The IMB Bank Cook Community Classic is a program of great community events that helps us appreciate, support and value the local Sutherland Shire community. It’s all about holding one great event that benefits many!

The primary focus of the IMB Bank Cook Community Classic is a large community event held each year in November at Cronulla Beach and the adjacent Cronulla Park. In 2015 the event will run on Sunday 22nd November 2015

The event includes

    • Community carnival in the surrounding park of Cronulla Beach areas including children’s entertainment, live music and charity stalls

  • A competitive carnival between the four Bate Bay Surf Clubs
  • An open water swim for public participation
  • A beach soccer competition for public participation
  • The 2015 Sylvania BMW Gala Charity Dinner
  • Pollie Paddle (alternate years)
  • Fundraising Raffle

Through these activities the Classic provides a fundraising platform for local Shire community groups – including sports clubs, local charities, school P&Cs and other community organisations – without themselves having to attract sponsors, arrange prizes, organise events and generate publicity to support their efforts. By pooling resources and holding one annual event smaller organisations can raise significant funds and awareness for their cause through the combined efforts of the Classic’s organising committee.

scottmorrisonMessage from event Patron,  The Hon. Scott Morrison, MP – Federal Member for Cook

It is once again my great pleasure to serve as patron of the 2015 IMB Cook Community Classic.

Now in its eighth year, the Classic is a great family day out celebrating and supporting the local organisations to make our Shire community strong.

To date the Classic has raised over $500,000 for around 50 local charities and community organisations in the Shire such as 2nd Caringbah Scouts, Special Olympics, Lioness Club of Sutherland Shire and many others including our four Bate Bay Surf Life Saving Clubs.

The IMB Cook Community Classic relies on the generous support from our local surf life saving clubs and I thank once again Cronulla, North Cronulla, Elouera and Wanda for their willingness to support our wider Shire community.

I also extend my sincere gratitude to our great corporate supporters, particularly IMB Building Society who is once again the major sponsor. IMB have been with the Classic since day one and are a major contributor to our local community. This year we welcome new supporters Kareena Hospital and ANSTO and PAYCE in a greater capacity. Additionally we are thankful of the ongoing support from Qantas, Olsen’s, Australian Hotels Association (AHA), Sydney Airport (SACL), Rotary Caringbah.

All the charities and community organisations we are supporting through the Classic are run by dedicated staff, often volunteers, who make tremendous efforts to care for our fellow Shire residents and beyond.

Please take the time to support these worthy organisations by purchasing a ticket in our charity raffle or by taking part in the many activities on the day including the ocean swim, getting a team together for the beach football, tickets to the gala ball or just come along and enjoy the family carnival atmosphere.

I look forward to seeing you there,
